CWO is owned and operated by brothers George & Dale Popovich. Together they have over 60 years of hunting, guiding & outfitting experience from wilderness Canadian bear hunts to rural southern whitetail & turkey hunts. They are dedicated to making your hunting experience at CWO the best it can be.
CWO consists of farmlands, cutovers, mature timber, mixed hardwoods, swamps and bottomland. You will find the fields planted with corn, soybeans, peanuts and cotton. CWO started a QDM program in 2000. Part of our program is feeding of quality feeds and mineral supplements year round and the culling of inferior deer along with creating deer habitat, by managing the land for the deer.
While at CWO you will be hunting from elevated stands, some permanent wooden stands, many of which are baited (baiting is legal in N.C.) You may also bring a portable stand from home that you are comfortable with (highly recommended for archery) giving us another opition, if needed, to make your hunt a success. Your hunt will start before daybreak. A guide will take you to your stand, then return to pick you up mid morning and bring you back to the lodge for lunch. He will then take you back to a stand mid afternoon and pick you up after dark.
The lodge is a very comfortable ranch style house, consisting of 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, dining room, living room and kitchen with air conditioning and heat. You will be treated to that world famous southern hospitality and southern cooking, which is family-style, all you can eat. After dinner, you may want to sit on our large back porch and swap stories or tell lies with your fellow hunters or just simply watch satellite television.
At CWO, everything is included for one low price. Food, lodging, linens, guides, care of your game, transportation to and from the field are included. All you have to do is bring your personal hunting gear and buy a N.C. hunting license. NO HIDDEN CHARGES !!
